Synopsis
A single engine plane swoops low along the Southern California coast. Suddenly the motor sputters, belches convulsively - then dies in silence. On shore the curious faces of two highly-spirited elderly sisters freeze in open-mouthed astonishment as they watch the stricken aircraft hit the foaming water, quickly sink and disappear. The emergency is flashed to the 240-ROBERT 'Search and Rescue' unit of the Emergency Services Detail of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. Within seconds a rescue plan is in motion.
